A suspect involved in the possible hostage situation in Fort Bragg was taken into custody last night. The incident happend in the Simpson Lane & Mitchell Creek Road area and the MSCO SWAT team was on the scene. More details are expected to be released from the sheriff’s office in the coming days.
A man who entered the closed disaster area of the Clayton Fire will serve some time in jail. Bradley Michael Thorstenson was on active felony probation for a burglary charge from 2014 when he was arrested recently. Thorstenson’s been ordered to serve 10 days in jail with no credit for time served.
As of last night, the SawMill Fire, burning the the Geysers east of Cloverdale was at 1500 acres and 45-percent contained. All mandatory evacuation orders and road closures were lifted at 6:00 yesterday evening. Firefighters will continue to work on improving the fire line today.

A closure of Pool Street in Lakeport has beenrescheduled for today. According to the Lakeport Public Works Department, Pool Street between Ninth Street and Central Park will be closed through 4 p.m. for work in the area. Drivers are asked to use alternate routes to avoid the area, and be aware of crews.
